Welcome back to face to face counselling

As you may be aware, we have been providing counselling via telephone calls through the pandemic. This has been a difficult and challenging time for us all; clients and therapists alike and I am so grateful to the team for ensuring we could maintain our service in this way. We have shared in so many of our clients personal triumphs and sadness during this difficult time and have learnt so much about how to navigate these very unusual times.

Now it is time to welcome clients back to the rooms; hopefully long term this time. Sadly in the Autumn we had only just returned when we had to reverts to telephone call re another lockdown. We are excited to let you know that U&I Therapists will gradually be returning to face to face counselling through May and June. We have worked to make our environment as safe as we can by putting a range of Covid precautions in place.

We have rearranged our rooms where necessary for two metre distancing. Sadly also we have had to remove our cushions and soft furnishings and will not currently be able to offer drinks or biscuits. Hopefully these little luxuries will be back as soon as possible.

January 2022 Update

As we enter the New Year 'Covid' is still with us sadly... So just an update and reassurance for our clients. The process of seeing new clients may be delayed a little more than we had hoped moving into 2022 due to 'Covid' and the high numbers of the new variant occuring locally.

Although it seems a milder strain causing less serious illness; the illness and the regulations around it still impacts somewhat on us all as you will understand.

Many of our team have been affected by it over Christmas; either by having it themselves or needing to self isolate re contacts/family. It has of course affected many clients too, this slows the process of them moving on re being ill/ forced to self isolate. We will of course be doing all we can to get back to full power though it may involve a bit of telephone counselling in some cases until we can all get back on site.

We already have rigorous precautions on site available and space for distancing/ screens etc and have been working face to face for some time. Of course it also all depends on if the government flips their current stance and imposes further restrictions that restrict our ability to work face to face work too.

Please be assured we will be doing our very best to serve our current clients and waiting referrals to the very best of our ability and as much as our own health and the situation allows. This means supporting face to face work with telephone sessions if necessary🙂

Kindest regards Wendy
Team Leader
